Shortly after their existing home was destroyed in the April 27, 2011 tornado, a Lake Martin family contacted Frusterio Design Inc. to design their new lake home.
Completed in the summer of 2013, this custom designed lake home takes full advantage of all of the beautiful lake views. It has an open floor plan design, with large cedar beams separating the kitchen and living room areas. Upon entry into the home, the foyer opens up into the living area of the house, with large windows and doors maximizing the stunning lake views.
Soaring 12′ ceilings in the living, kitchen and dining areas give the space a light airy feel as well as the opportunity for transoms over the rear windows and doors to increase the flow of natural light into the home.
An intimate sitting/sunroom, with a 10’ceiling and painted wood walls, is directly off of the dining area. Also off of this side of the living area is a large utility room, walk-in pantry and 2-car garage.
The master suite occupies the opposite end of the house. The master bedroom has oversized windows and doors that look out to a private screened porch that is connected to the main rear porch. The master bath has his and her vanities, private water closet and a glass shower. The walk-in closet is the perfect size for as many swim-suits as you could want.
The rear porch spans the entire length of the home, with access points off of the master, living and sunroom areas and a stone fireplace that continues through to the covered area on the lower level of the home.
The open stairwell opens up into a recreation room. The lower level also has two guest bedrooms, a bunk room and a laundry room with easy access from the lake.
The exterior of the home is a timeless mix of siding, stone and stained cedar.
